“In the instance an employer makes an illegal request for a photograph as part of a job application, you may submit a complaint to the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.” Successful violation fee collections are paid partially to the one who suffered the violation, which in many cases exceeds a year of work at these shit jobs. There’s only two weak points to a corporation, and those are in the budget and in the supply chain. Hit them where it hurts.

fuck it, i never ever do those “reblog for X, this one really works!” posts, but this one doesn’t have any of that BS, this is just straight up wishing us good things; and then the comment doesn’t even say any of that either. Zero claims on this post, all positive vibes

My birthday is Saturday and really want to make a wish
You can bring up the issues of racism in other
countries. You can discuss how racism isn’t just US centric without bringing
down black american. I literally do it all the time on here. You can talk about
issues of racism overseas without undermining the racism black americans face.
And a lot of it is just thinly veiled
anti-blackness. Most of the people who say “racism isn’t American centric—stop talking
about black v white” inconveniently forget that black people aren’t the only
one who are protesting racism in America. There are indigenous movements and
latine movements (esp chicana movements for immigration) yet people are only
using black vs white racism as an example to tell people to stop looking at american
racism—people seem to only act like black people protesting is an example of american
based racism.
Like omg, there are ways to bring light to
racism in other countries without dragging black American people. There are so
many other conflicts and issues you can speak on without tearing down black people.
Also, other oppressed groups can discuss issues within their communities without throwing black people under the bus. I’m sick of it.
And people always wanna act like it’s so damn different in other countries when it’s simply not true.
Like I experience anti blackness in Germany too. It’s not the exact same but damn it’s similar in the way it expresses itself. Most of the time what y'all doing is acting like the UD is special for its racism, when the truth is that it’s one of the countries in which PoC and have been able to academically reflect how they experience racism.
i was talking with another black woman about that earlier but it’s really crazy how even an “ugly” white woman has more opportunities to date than any black woman???? like most straight black women i know had close to no experience with men until they were in college meanwhile white people get to that very early in their lives i know it doesn’t make a lot of sense and i’m bad at explaining myself but it really sucks to know that you could literally be the most amazing person on earth but people still won’t give you the benefit of the doubt because of misogynoir
